'If you want a red rose,' said the Tree, 'you must build it out of music by moonlight, and stain it with your own heart's-blood. You must sing to me with your breast against a thorn. All night long you must sing to me, and the thorn must pierce your heart, and your life-blood must flow into my veins, and become mine.'

It's such a sad story D:
Kind of painful... :P
I've sharpened my axe... where IS this tree?
Oscar Wilde, The Nightingale and the Rose. CLG, we did him and his works in literature, remember?
I love this story. It's so sad yet beautiful, and the part where the girl picks the rich guy over this guy and he stops believing is love is such a downer.
I find it beautiful,
to make a rose out of music, sing it from the depths of hearts like a thorn oozing blood from the depths,
the most heartfelt song it shall be... who could then resist from making it their's?
These are beautiful lines by a beautiful artist, a poet, one of a kind.
:)
Blasphemous Aesthete
@Saleeha - Yeah, I loved that part too.
We spent weeks analyzing this story in literature.

All this mingling of blood - very dangerous. Oh, dear! Now I'm letting the prosaic housewife in me show too much. I will destroy illusion! Love, Alec xx
