The dichotomy of good and evil.

Why do we hide things? Whatever the reason, I believe it takes a toll on us. Hiding how you really feel from someone, hiding who you really are, hiding what you would rather be doing. Bareness is required, yes. Only then do you truly understand someone. Unless the other person is of such high perception that they understand you even better than yourself. But that does that mean that you don't really say what you mean? Isn't that a bad thing? And what if the other person is actually aware of whatever you're hiding and is choosing to ignore it? For your well being? Or their own? Or everyone else's?

But why are you hiding things to begin with? If its something wrong then you need to put a stop to it. If it's not wrong, you shouldn't have to hide it. The only logical conclusion if you continue to do so is that you know its wrong but just don't have the mental strength to abstain. Where then is the line between what is considered your fault and that which can be chalked down to being human?

Explain to me the science behind it all. What exactly is missing and what are you searching for? Where does the problem lie and is there a cure? You can't win any outside wars if your own self is conflicted. Truth has to out, whatever the price may be. Or do you make your own truths?

I wish I could just get on a plane and fly away from myself.

Bare/raw honesty, that too 24/7, is overrated. You live in world defined by certain social conventions that require you to hide or lie or not be true to yourself. You don't have to abide by them all the time but you can't be a rebel either. Choosing not to say what you're thinking all the time doesn't make you a bad person - just makes you normal, I think. How would it be if we could read every thought crossing every person's mind? Utter chaos.

Anyway, that last line made me laugh, about getting on a plane away from oneself :)

I needed to read this comment for the validation / rationalization but something still doesn't feel right. Part of the process, I guess? One wonders when one finally finds peace.
